i dont' think there's certain breeds that can out run a BOP but certain birds..you get what I'm saying?...like I had a roller dodge hawks attacks numerous of time in the air but that's just 1 out of my 5. Some of my homers dodge jsut as well some don't and they get eatin

The bird that I could say to me is the best to fly as an alternative to the roller in the off season is the Donek. Not because they can out fly the BOP but because you only fly 2 or 3 at a time and they have the ability to be called down from 5-600 feet and be on the ground next to you in just a few seconds. If you have an open area look into them. Joe ---------- J.M.Urbon Lofts A Proven Family of Spinners http://www.freewebs.com/jmurbonlofts/

Joe, You could be right there.I've been flying my Doneks since January 1st with only one loss of a new flyer to the henery.Their antics in the sky put a smile on my face every time they go up and come down from 4-500 ft total fly time no more than 5 minutes. The one thing that is great about them is you can put 2 or 3 up and get them back quick, put another 2 or 3 up,get them in,and do it again with the first bunch. You can do this all day keeping the main dinner course hidden and just give them a tiny snack each time they come in,finally feeding them up when you've had enough entertainment or are ready to put up the roller kits.Yesterday put up 8 at once and they were all over the place diving, spiralling, twizzling at about 400 ft when I put the dropper bird out they were all in the loft in about 15 seconds. It is more of a hassle to get them to fly at first than Rollers but when they finally decide to cooperate it is well worth the effort. They are quite qregarious and like to land on my hat, shoulders and hands when I'm feeding them and I'm yet to see them fighting amongst themselves in the loft.I love 'em. ---------- Kel. Rum-30 Lofts PS, I've only lost one racer to the BOP this year as well. They fly low and fast and make the most sound with a pigeon whistle tied onto their tailfeathers.
