These 6 are Ron Duncan strain (wich i believe go back to Higgins' birds) and Reed.Very popular in my neck of the woods!LOL!
Steve (CSRA),haven't seen you around much lately!Miss seeing those bad ass birds of yours.

looking good luis, yup reds seem to be taking over mine as well! Those ron duncan birds are higgins based via robert parker. good luck with them, im sure youll get some smokers out of them.

Question... does the different bands off set the birds in their roll? Throw them off balance so to speak. I like those English style bands a lot. Just never got them because the personalized bands are plastic coated. One is small and sleek. The other is big and bulky. Balance is key in these birds. Not much balance with a bird that carries both.
Any inputs?

Thor I dont think the band weighs enough to make the birds roll or spin off balance I've been raising and banding birds for more then thirty years and seen some excelent birds all over that have all types of bands on there legs. Just my opinion if a bird is rolling swithing wings or anything else it's not the band.

Nice birds luis. I'm getting a couple of duns and blacks out of my duncan pairs. I only got 6 red from them last year.See what happens this year.

I actually wasn't referring to the weight of the bands. More so the size. I have seen photos of birds during the roll. All most all ways, their legs are out catching air. If one leg has a big and bulky band while the other is not... wouldn't one catch more air than the other?
Hell, some times I think too much :0
After writing the above, I have seen super spins from one banded birds as well...
I guess it is just a comestic issue with me. Gotta have them the same size and style.
