If it's 3 weeks old,it will figure out what food is and where to find it as long as you have some in the tray.Dip it's beak in the water.

It's obviously not one of the smarter ones.I don't want to sound mean, but i would get rid of it, if it doesn't pick up!

City side,
Is he or she breathng with its beak slightly open? If so you may have a youngster that has a case of internal canker going on. Take a good look at it and open its mouth and if you can see the canker visible you need to treat him or her immediately. Years ago we use to use enheptin until the FDA took it off the market. That was the best stuff around at that time. Good luck and I hope this may help you save your youngster.
Also just got to thinking after plucking this out.Does the youngster fly to the perch normal and land normal? If not it may be having visual problems starting in the early stages of blindness. Just a thought here. I had one that was blind in one eye and would peck at the grain on the side of the good eye only.

Go to wal-mart and buy Wild bird seed (a big bag) just for the time being and feed him it. So he knows how to eat from the dish. Make sure you sure do this and you'll be good to go!
