One of my partners lost a pair of his main breeders, due to a left unlock door to his cage. They had 2 squabs approx. 2 1/2-3 weeks of age. How can or what should he do to keep feeding the young pair? Is there a formula that u can bootle feed to them.

Hillside, That kinda sucks. I had a same problem 2 years ago when I was out of town. My dad accidently left the loft open and my main breeder cock fley away. the squab was just 1-2 weeks with slightly feather popping. I hand fed the baby everyday 4-5 times with milo and smaller peas. I used a plastic serenge with no needles and gave her fresh bottle water. When the baby got bigger, I was able to give her pellets and all that goody nutrition. It was a lot of work on my end but she grew up being super tamed. What I also notice was when she was the same age as the other youngs that are just about to flap their wings, I put her with the others in a cage big enough for an adult's head to squeze in. when they feed their babies, they will feed her as well. Once their legs are storng enough to run around, you can try this and see if it helps. About nutritions, I am no vet so I think the other guys or Tony can answer that part of teh question. i hope this helps.

If he has any parents that have 1 or even two other babies close to the same age, they will except another! I had to do this when it was cold(early spring). When parents only had 1 little one, they would freeze, so I would double them up under the parents and the other pr could go on and start another nest! Being two babies in the nest, they would keep each other warm while the parents got off during the day!
This is a plus to having several pr cycling at the same time!
My parlors are poor parents, I have to foster their babies out often! ---------- Val
