Hey all,

Well...The Sac area W.C. prelims are complete. Scott Campbell took 1st place in our region. We have two qualifiers...but I do not know who the second one is yet. I think that I may have got it...but Scott was checking to see another score. Scott did a great job as Director....Thanks again buddy...even though you got voted in for the job while you were in the bathroom....LOL!!

Anyway...it was a great three days...the judge was a real nice guy. I missed Scotts kit due to a previous engagement. I heard it was a good show....It did appear that all the kits were not quite on..I believe it was due to the warm days and cold ass nights...and Hot one day then cold the next...hard to feed with weather that differs so much from day to day.

It was good to see everyone....and hang out and talk pigeons. There were some hard luck kits, some fliers that really improved from years past...We had a new flier with Joe Urbons son getting his first taste of Roller Flying. It was so awesome to see him and Joe take the birds down the street for a release...I almost shed a tear..but I am to tough for that...remember..I am a firefighter...anyway...it was really a post card moment. Although...his first taste was what we have all been through..a DQ...but he will be ready next time....Joe's blood runs through his veins...so he will be back with avengance.....All and all it was great fun. Oh...I got Scott Campbell all worked up about colored birds...Just kidding...again...it was good to see everyone..

We had a nice brunch today with the judge and Scott C. Ken Firl, Myself, my little one, Chor and I think that was about it. The judge hung out with me for about three hours then it was time to leave. We talked pigeons and then watched some NBA basketball...next thing you know we were both trying to catch flies...we both were sawing logs!! LOL...

Maybe Scott can add the scores and who placed where.....anyway...rock on!!

Thanks guys, yes Pauline the pirate took 2nd and honestly I enjoyed watching his team better than my own as his quality was better and if he wouldn't have called them in so fast he may have taken the fly, mine were over the edge too far ,good job Paul.

Hey Scott,

Looks like your concentration on the stock loft over the last few years is starting to pay off. Great job, bud!

Congratulations Scott!

Great job with what I can only imagine is a great group of rolling pigeons.

Dave Szab makes a distinct analysis in reference to your concentration on the stock loft. I'm sure this is probably the best way for all of us to genetically engineer those top notch spinners we all desire for competition. The key formula here is having the proper stock to begin with. The rest is merely left up to feeding, breeding, cleaning, training and flying (proper loft management).

....and again Scott great job!

Hey Congrats to both of you guys. We will be represented well. Michael was pretty tore up about the DQ until I explained to him that it is something we have all done. You know I got home the nite befor for the fly and had I got home befor dark I would have probably recognised the birds were a bit under fed and I would have tossed a few scoops to them but I think it was good for him to get that one out of his system. I wouldnt have missed his first fly for anything just wish I could have been there to help him prepare them a bit better. Anyway it was great seing all you guys and give them h--l in the finals guys. I had 166.6 with a 1.4 1.4 , Paul had a 130 with a 1.5 1.3, it was no doubt a tough fly for all of us as we went from the 90s to the 80s and then dropped to low 60s over night with a low at night in the 30s.
The day before the fly my birds were over fed and I almost didn't feed them , but decided to give them about a third of a feeding for insurance since I knew it was cooling down, it wasn't enough though and they were on the loft at 25 min.
Pauls kit acted simular but had more energy, it just took them a little longer to go to work, he had a BB that was a screamer ,it very very nice bird.

Dave , yes it has been paying off and I am biting at the bit to rob the team again.

Way to go, Scott. Wish I could have been there to see them.
Nice last minute adjustment for the weather. I've seen those last minute cold snaps the night before the fly cause a number of very good kits to DQs.

Scott,

I ran the band number on the Blue Bar and it is half Mort and half Ruby...the mother is that little 04 Mealy bar Ruby Roller that you held years ago and said she was the best feeling bird in my loft.....and the cock is an 06 Blue Bar Cock that is pure Mort...from a Mottle cock and Blue bar hen....I kept that pair together this year.....anyway...just wanted to let you know what the Blue Bar came from.

The judge picked up a Lavender that he noticed was ripping and that one was a cross that was from A grizzle Mort cock 06 and a little black 04 Ruby Roller hen that is the daughter from the Mealy bar hen that was from above...so I have a grand baby and a first gen from that hen that is doing pretty good.

Anyway..thanks for the compliment...it really means a lot..because I know that you only throw out compliment if they are warranted..LOL....in other words....This old Pirate almost shed a tear..LOL!!

The old Scott Campbell would have just said Paul's BB had potential. The other day he called me a wiennie; the old Scot Campbell would have called me a d---k. I don't know if I like the new Scott Campbell.(LOL)

Nick, that bird had more than just potential,a kit of those would be awsome, but when I called you a weinie I was just being nice by not calling you a willy LOL
