I know of one job he held for a long time. He worked for Don Andrews @ Andrews Metal & Hardware in downtown Los Angeles. At one time the coolest place to buy pigeon supplies and bands.

Pensom also was a bus driver back in England..He was a working man..I remember reading stories how he would let his tipplers fly and he go to work they would fly for hours on end and he would stop every now and so on his route and come off the bus to look up at his birds fly. I found that funny.. and the guys would pull his leg and tell him they saw his birds hanging on a wire . lol... Pensom has made a unique contribution to the development and understanding of the Birmingham Roller in the United States.for this i would always be grateful for his blessing as a writer. He was a very educated man.a good man. may he Rest In Peace . P.S. He not only sold birds but he gave many away.. ---------- Ralph....

Pensom also managed Mr Andrew's lofts. Andrews was a collector of breeds from all over the world. He would get them while on his travels all over the world, and he had a huge collection. Paul G

Now here is something that I've always had lingering in the back of my mind ever since I learned of Rollers, Tumblers and WH Pensom.
Some strains of Black Country Rollers are high flying birds that can and have been known to fly for hours. Tipplers have highly distinguishable white eyes therefore seperating them generations from tumblers or rollers.
Hmmm....
My question for WH Pensom would have been his fundamental use of tipplers and the role they might have played in the training of his Birmingham Roller pigeons over the years.
