HAH!!Been on this list for quite awhile so thought somebody might be curious how my birds made out.Even if ya'all aren't,gonna write it here anyways as it helps to get things off your chest sometimes after a little bit of a stressful time. Had Brian Krog over to judge and he is good guy,I don't care what they said in jail.LOL. My 16 birds left in my a-team broke out of the box at 6:18am,kitting like glue everyone of them. Not wasting any time as I'm always afraid of the henery attacking,I called time in at 6:19.30am when they were about 150 ft up.Scored 3 breaks of 5 in the first 2 minutes and they were just settling in to give us a real show when all hell broke loose and the male peri from out back of my place swooped in and the kit went everywhere but most came to the box roof. That henery was relentless in his attacks on the birds left flying but he only managed one hit and took most of the tailfeathers out of a blue check 06 hen.My favourite blue bar 06 bird was coming in at warpspeed and she hit the edge of the metal roof on the kitbox giving her a gash that was bleeding pretty bad,but the bleeding stopped and it looks like she'll make it to fly again.I'll put some of that foam insulating tube stuff for pipes on the edges of that roof ,don't want that to happen again. If my birds had had another minute of a flying chance would have doubled my score from last year(my first fly)so with that feat alone,I guess I have to be happy with my birds performance for what they were allowed by nature.Only scored one 9 break at the end of my fly last year so can't complain.Must be doing something right.I don't have the heart OR the means to "deal"(as a lot of guys say)with the henery so my only chance here is for the next fly to fall on a day when I'm real lucky and the henery is sleeping in some tree with it's eyes shut. Not mentioning any names but there is a guy on this list who lives in the Cali mountains and my goal is to beat him.Not sure why I have this need but not gonna stop till I do,then I won't stop either.LOL!I guess it's a macho kind of thing but I'm gonna do it without guns or traps.Pay attention. After driving the judge and score guy to jimmi macs place on vancouver island we drove by Monty Neibles old place on the Port Alberni highway to pay our respects to a former Roller Great.Long live Monty in Rollermans Heaven if there is one.Damn,I wish I had come on the scene soon enough to know him. Peace guys and good luck to all W/C Qualifiers in the finals. ---------- Kel. Rum-30 Lofts

Kel at least you are going forward. Keep going that way and you have to win sooner or later if the henery will leave you alone.

Tought break :( Suffer an over fly yesterday. Lost the whole kit. End of the day, 14 returned. Today, 4 trapped in some time during them morning hours. Last count, 3 M.I.A.
Two weeks before I fly the WC. Can you say bad luck? I'll give them 'till tomorrow to return. Not looking good as those three were one of the hardest workers in the lot.
A freak 1 hour snow storm rolled in which caused a white out over fly.
Thor
P.S. Only if my birds were half as smart as yours when being attacked by a Henry. Mine will sky out while yours hit the ground.

Thor, I hope you get those last 3 back.Ya know,I've never had an overfly in my 2 years of serious flying. Both my kits almost all go to ground when attacked and just seem to want to get back in the box as quick as they can.I guess I'm lucky in that regard.A couple weeks ago one bird did go up to around 7-800 ft while the rest trapped in toot sweet. That henery went up after him and when he reached my bird they tussled a bit up there then that Roller went into a dive that could've taught my Doneks a thing or two,not slowing down till about 80 feet above the kitbox when he pulled out of the dive and landed safely.Quite something to see. ---------- Kel.
