Andrew,
It is sad; however, it is only the tip of the iceberg (if you can still find an iceberg)
What I mean is we (the world) have a great hunger for fuel and that hunger is only getting worse. Worse to the point that we are using FEED to fuel our engines along with oil. The impact it is making is tremendous, raising feed costs, food costs, etc etc.... Feed for fuel is totally stupid when there are folks who are having a hard time getting by, cost of bread is going up like crazy. Feed for our birds has been a direct impact.
I feel sorry for the ducks; however, it is much more tragic in terms of humanity.....

There is enough oil under the ground in the US to reduce our imports by 95%. The main petroleum product we import is unleaded gasoline. It takes about 15 year and 12 billion dollars by the time all of the permits are pulled and the construction is complete, the gas and diesel begin to flow from the new refinery. If the rules set by the EPA and their cohorts in the enviro nazi groups were eased and the permitting process were streamlined it might take just 8 years.
There is no need to turn food into fuel.It is already disturbing the world food prices. Now it is gonna cost us 700 billion to feed the people of corrupt governements who hate us. MMMM Contact your local congressmen.

V99,
I could not agree with you more about turning the feed into fuel.
If we have the reserves of oil like your talking here in the US someone needs their butt kicked....
