Tony, I see the birds that are up for sale look very young. I'm wondering how you tell that their cocks that young? I can't tell on mine but a few are very dominant kind of squeak, cooing at each other. Is their a secret about telling so young?

Bert,
I don't know about Tony's method; however, I have noticed that Tony has a lot of reds and if a red has black flect in it's feathers it is a good chance it is a cock. It there are none it is a good chance it is a hen.

Hey Bertie, the ones with the blue bonnets are the boys, the pink bonnets the girls.
After 15 years working with the same family, it does get easier, black ticking, size, and certain physical characteristics all add up to helping me determine which is which.
When I am wrong, my policy is to take care of it. Thanks for asking about it. ---------- FLY ON! Tony Chavarria

Thanks Tony, I thought maybe you had a secret about it. I did a search and found most of what you said. So it will be almost Impossible on my KGB birds since they are always black or very dark blue checked.

My first KGB squeak they all look pretty much like this. Just starting to get out and fly. How long before they start rolling?
