you can also use a long pole with a flag on the end of it that works well..

i was haveing that same problem this year i would scare them and they woul;d just move from one side to the other. I tried the flag and didnt work so good for me so i walked them to the front yard in my carring cage and released them there and know there flying it might work for you

Don't toss 'em up.They'll associate your hand with the bad guy.Carry 'em a few hundred yards from the kitbox and let 'em go.If they're roof sitting, get some heavy fishing line on a stubby casting rod and tie a tennis ball on the end.Don't stop casting the ball at them till they take off.If you have a good throwing arm,use a basketball and keep throwing it at them till they up.Half full 1 gal.buckets of water work good too.Lots of noise!Drives the wife and the dogs nuts tho.

remember to starve them try flagging them once in a while apon releasing them but keep in mind to not scare them make them know that the loft is the safe place to be. it might be a waiting game but your patience will pay off in the long run.-joe

If all that ball throwing, flag waving, noise making doesn't work maybe you have to change their diet. But, when I've had that problem I just let go the ones that fly and throw up a lazy one right away. Don't throw up too many cause they'll re-group and land. This could take some work and a few days before you see results, and don't worry about handling them, they'll get over it.

Victor 1967.

I have an idea but I haven't tried it yet. I was thinking of getting one of those "Air hogs" remote control airplanes...cost roughly 20-50 bucks at walmart or target...My plan was maybe I can scare the heck out of them if they decide to just chill. I am gonna try this in the near future but just wondering if you might want to give it a shot.

What you can do is just take them farther away from the kitbox box up and release run to the spot that they like to bank on and wave a long pole with a flag and a black garbage bag tie to the end of it you have to break that bad habit first .now since they haven't been flying due to banking they are not in shape to be flying long so after 5 minutes call them down and feed them reward them call them in .keep doing this everyday and increase the time.hide the flag pole, let them know its safe to be on the kitbox. always do this on an empty stomach (the bird not you) ..... try it with 5 or 7 at a time including the three that like to fly so you can see who is bringing them down..but if they bank and you whistle them in and they don't budge you feeding them too much.. now if you wave the flag pole also
do it behind the kitbox so like surprise and quickly run to the spot they bank on..if this don't work either you made lazy bummers out of them or you need birds that like to fly..but if you consistent you can train any animal to do what you want ..---------good luck..

Three things either you are feeding to much or not enough, or you have one or two birds that just don't want to fly and they will pull a kit of young birds down. cull them

Their are some good suggestions given 1967....When I have this problem I cut the feed down, take them a few 100 ft away from the loft and release them. REPEAT as often as necessary until Iam satisfied with their preformance. Just keep tryen, don't be impatient.

victor1967,

maybe you feed them too much or something...cause babies like to fly...if not then try to toss them up like a football and throw one of your flyer with it ...it might work...but you can give it a try...
