Hey Val Congrats. You beat Kenny.LOL. In all seriousness it gets better every year. You will soon be swapping birds out to improve your team and 3-5 years is when it really gets fun. As long as you are able to hold on to them. Watch the overflies and the preditors and you are on your way. Joe

They did better than I expected! Thought that I had them too hungry and they woundn't make time, but they flew for like an hr and a half! LOL

Last night, I went to pull the water about midnight and one of my best birds got out and flew in the dark for thirty minutes! Scary when I only had 15 left, but it came in!

About 4 a.m., storms came rolling in and rained hard till after 6! Calm for an hr and then the wind picked up! When I let my birds out, they took off and so did we, through the alley and neighbors yard trying to keep an eye on them through the trees!

They were pretty active the whole fly, but a couple birds wouldn't stay with the kit and hurt me! Had lots of 3 and 4 in the turns and lots of waterfalling!. They wouldn't get enough heigth to commit to deep rolls!

Lots of ands, ifs, and buts, but I'm proud of them and it gave me confidence that I'm moving forwards!

I have 2 more kits of my last 2 rounds in training and 22 babies in the nest as we speak, so its gonna be a busy summer! But I can't think of anything that I would rather be doing, so I'm gonna keep trying to move forwards and improve for thr FF!

Thanks guys, couldn't have done it without ya!

Great job. I'm glad to hear it turned out well for you Val. Now we'll see how my two teams do on the 16th.

Young birds will only get better with age and air time. Go get them next time Val.

Flew Friday the 16th. First to fly was my neighbor, Mr. Johnson. DQ'd in less then 10 minutes. The winds took half his team into the East while the other half kept low to the ground. That lower flying half all landed not too long after being released.

I flew in just about the same winds. They flew very low and under the radar. As my friend Dick stated "in your face" type of height. I never stood a chance as a pair of Perry worked the old bird team the whole week on every release. Lost two during the whole ordeal (2 right before to an over fly) and with the new replacements, the team just didn't put it together. Kind of sucks adding new members right at the last second. Flew blind and got a whooping 13 points. All my fault as I fed them for 5 mph winds but got 30 plus mph winds on release. Won't make that same mistake again...

On a good note, they stayed so low the pair that worked them the whole week never even knew they were flying :) All trapped in after 25 minutes in the air. Barely made the time.

Hey, you got me beat big time.
