Kel, I'd give them a try. Met John back in 01' or 02' and he was a real nice guy that was a wealth of knowledge concerning the birds.

Yeah,John is a good guy.He can't fly birds these days due to the henery living on every bridge in Vancouver. He'll be a force to reckon with tho when he retires and moves to the interior of BC.

Kelly, I have been to Johns and he here at my home, the real deal for sure and a he is prooven world class flyer.
Many think hat his birds are Neibles , but not so although Neibles are a piece of the puzzle that were used to develope his family.

Scott,
Yeah,I've met John a couple times he was here judging last year but I never really got a chance to talk to him about how he put together his family of birds.I always thought his were birds originating from Monty's loft,so what you have said I find quite interesting.I'll have to delve into that one.Definately will keep them separate from the Monty birds I have now I know that.
Thanks,

With feed prices the way they are, I made the same choice! I only have x amount of room too, so I made the decision to not keep anything that has no chance of contributing to my stock!

Kelly, he used Loyd Thompson also I beleive or maybe Clint Hollingworth, not sure, I think heavier on the Nieble side though, I rember calling him one time and asking if they were Niebles, he got a little affended and was quick to tell me no they were his LOL.
Although there was a noticable difference between the the two stock lofts where type and color were concerned, the Niebles were broader chested and Johns carried much much more white.

Scott,
OK,now you've really got my curiosity up.I'd better get down there and pick the birds up,see what we get.I know Al Hunt's birds have some Lloyd Thompson strain in them so Lloyds do have some influence up here in BC.Thanks for your respnses guys.

Kelly, If you have the old NBRC mag.s go back to when he won the cup there's an article somewhere in there. If I remember it's close to what Scott said started with 2 pair from Monty and then added 1 pair later can't remember where from But I think it was 1 of the choices Scott said.

Tim,
The only NBRC mag I have is the Sept --Oct 2000 issue in Memory of Monty Neibel on loan to me and there is some really great stuff in that one.

There is a nice article on John on the World Cup Website. Look under Champion of Champions link then under his name.
John was very competitive before the falcons became such an issue to him. His birds would only fly in tight circles around the neighbors tree.
VERY discouraging when this happens. (Ask me how I know)

Too bad you didn't get them

John will be back for sure. His kids are close to being finished their schooling and when they are done he will be moving to the interior where the henery are not so bad.
