Since I am no longer constrained by any standards, I thought why not think outside the box?

I came up with this: what would happen if I crossed a fantail to get the head and neck on my rollers leaning way back, would this help the tightness and therefore the velocity of my birds?

Now, Glenn, I am not talking about "tail-hinge", there is nothing to that myth. Sorry Eldon, Glenn said so...

How about crossing a roll down with a modena or a giant runt? A roller that is big enough to fight of BOP's and roll at the same time...hopefully it has control or else it might splatter....maybe mix it back to a parlor to get more roll with its' weight?

Hey Flo, maybe you're on to something! Now I think I know why Pensom had Modenas! He was trying to create a class of super-size rollers that no right thinking bop would dare to try and catch.

If I crossed a roller with a modena, should I consider my F1's to be pure or true rollers? I forgot how all that goes.

Tony, Funny you mentioned the "tail-hinge", since I was talking to Eldon this past Sun. and he brought it up. I actually tried it with some of my birds and believe it or not it actually worked on my tightest spinners.

Tony, if you wanted the cobra-neck of the fantail, you'd be better off using a Mookie, one of the oldest breeds of domestic pigeons. They are actually great flyers, and they don't have a gazillion tail feathers...LOL.

Hi Tony,
Thats already be adventured on and done in the 40's by a german guy. His loft had a 12/12 pitch on it and when the wind came up the south side of the loft the birds rolled down the other side like parlors LOL!
