I believe crows are protected by the MBTA, so I wouldn't mess with them. ---------- FLY ON! Tony Chavarria

Yea I posted somthing on this, early this year I noticed in the field next to my house I would have about fifteen or so eating the foulled food from my loft I would toss over my fence. After I noticed how they would kinda protect my kit, at first I thought it was a fluke. But as time went on I noticed "My Country Cuzzins" as I like to call them were true protection, launching a rentless attack on any B.O.P , I was like the old war movies when the reinforcements would come in the heat of battle. To put it short I went to the 99cent store and bought a big tin like you cook turkeys in and started feeding them, "heavely" any thing and all scrapp food. this worked really well as their numbers doubbled and they would swock, to get feed. I eventually started feeding them dog food, that bill went up but it was well worth it, as I was able to fly freely in the early spring hope this helps..

Crows are really cool and back when I was a kid I had a crow and a magpie and they both talked real good would even laugh just like a person. Their was an old not so wise tale about you needed to split their tongues before they would talk but that's a bunch of crap. Mine talked great and all we did was teach them. They are like a parrot mimickers they hear it enough they will say it. They might chase your pigeons around but they won't hurt them. But don't let one in your loft or your really in for it. They would eat all the eggs and small squeaks in a second.

Crows arent protected. There is a hunting season on them in Florida. I protect them around the house because they let me know when a BOP is around. They do mess with my kits but never had one eat a bird! LOL

One crow sorrow, Two crows joy, Three crows a baby, Four crows a boy, Five crows silver, Six crows gold, Seven crows a secret never to be told!
Old folks down the bayou thought/think sighting of crows have a special meaning as the chant above says?
I have a pair of crows nesting near by, one or the other will fly a turn or two with my kit. They seem to come to the commotion of all the rolling, but they haven't bothered the rollers much other than getting in the way.

I remember when i was a kid i caught a crow and took it home ,he would not eat it rather die if it can't be free.so i let it go.thats when i learn a bird of nature born free love to be free..here in the Island we have small crow half the size of the one in NYC,,they don't bother the birds and hide when the BOP comes around.. I'm talking 100 around here.. ---------- Ralph
