hi everyone,I had a bird that I was flying a few days ago not come back.I was watching them fly and one bird was seperated from the rest. She was just flapping her wings and not going anywhere and the wind was taking her to the east. Never saw her again.I told one guy I buy birds from and he said she was having a heart attack. Also it was not real windy that day, just a slight breese.Has anyone ever experience this before. thanks, Brian

Brian,I had a 2yr old that was 514 bred in my kit,and one morning he seperated like yours, and began to "flutter"in his wing strokes, there was a slight west breeze,he fluttered east and never stopped, till he was out of sight, and never returned..it was a real strange situation....Some yrs back, I was feeding and there was a little excitement with the birds getting to feed, and a little hen flew up to a perch, turned around to see the feed and fell to the floor dead...that was another strange situation,,,so your friend is probably correct in his opinion...119

Rollers will sometimes roll blood in there eyes, and will be blind for a while. If they do it in one eye you will get them back, if they do it in both eyes you will lose them, unless they are close to the loft. You do not breed out of a bird that does this, he or she will pass the trait on.

Brian, Once you see a bird that has spun blood in it's eye there will be no doubt as to what your seeing. The eye will look like it is full of blood where the blood vessels have burst during the roll...
