I feed 1 tbl. spoon each per day. half wheat and milo.I have 20 in a kit box and I fly them every day if I can. What can I do to get some hieght on them? Thanks Ken Oh yes I live in Houston Tx.

Hey Ken, here is what I would consider:

1: Are they getting enough feed to fly 30 to 45 minutes?
2: What are you feeding?
3: Could there a bird or two keeping them down?
4: Are they a young bird team?
5: A Mix of young and old?
6: Late hatches that did not fly regularly?
7: Coming off of winter lock down?

Can you provide a little more information?

Up the amount of feed to 2 cups(16 oz) for 20 birds, then cut back a little if they fly too long.Cut the amount of milo in the mix to 10%.

Milo is basicly nothing for the birds so 50% is just to much. Cut it way back or out all the way unless the birds are to fat. Also the Temp and relative humidity have huge factors. first thing I would do is give them a handful of pease with the straight wheat for a couple days and see how they react to that. But cut the milo out or they wont have a chance. Joe

Willy milo really has no nutritional value. it is the least nutritional of any of the feeds that we use. If you were to feed your birds straight milo it wouldn't take long befor your kit goes to hell in a handbasket. Milo should only be used to shed weight. Wheat is the feed of choice that most like to use. Not me personally but that is only because I have bred my birds to work for me the best on a mix that I special order. Joe
