After working a 12 hour shift yesterday I got home around 6:45pm and needed my roller fix so I put up a young bird team and they flew and flew and flew and flew, 8pm still flew and flew. Looked in the kit box this morning at 6am and out of the 15 only 3 returned so far, I am hoping to get these guys back because a few of them I was going to promote to my A team, If anyone in the Pico/ Whittier or Downey area stray in any of them please let me know, they are banded SGVS 1000 series.
Thanks guys

Dale, same thing here. Youngbirds banded HFRF 08 #500 series. I'm missing 8 birds. All are black selfs with pearl eyes and recessive reds with orange eyes.

I'll call you if I stray any in.

Crazy my birds wern't even given time to adjust... ill be investing in a cooling system, the folks here got on that goes trough the wall and it's not a swamp cooler no water running to just cool air. so thats good the last thing i want is a humid enviroment for them, and will be diong the automatic water system this weekend...

If the birds are pretty much blind at night how is it that they can fly all night long without crashing? I shined a strobe light on them last night and they were all together, makes you wonder how nature works

MOST OF THE YOUNG BIRDS STAY IN THE AREA, FLYING SOME OLDER BIRDS MIGHT BE A GOOD IDEA. they are probably hungry and thirsty.

The funny thing is is all the younger birds came back and the oldest ones are the ones that are missing 8 to 9 months old, put up another team and none in site, maybe they will fly by later, I will probably keep some younger ones out hanging around on top of the kit box, see what happens.

If you guys are members, I must be the club president. It's a tough reality. Sometimes it happens. It's part of the equation, and we can only try to minimize releases that put birds at risk.

Fly an old hen with the yb`s for a month or two. My last overfly was all yb`s. They just kinda flew away one evening. Almost half came back. So far this year I havent lost any. Everytime they go up the old hen goes too. She has been here four years.

I have seen the original kit 5 blocks from my house in the wind breaking like hell over the bingo parking lot.
