ok frenchie there are best case scenarios and then there is neccessity. Best case. Fly the bird for two-three seasons. See if it has the goods and longevity, then breed it. Neccessity is you get hammered by the hawks but your family is pretty tight. Genetic material should be in place to get you something decent. Personally I woild wait til the birds are at least six months old before breeding from them. ---------- V99

thanx bro...ok lets say u have an 08 cock and u like what it is doing in the air so far, very frequent and showing more depth each day and he will also make attemps to mate, you also have a proven hen from 06, would you let him mate before 6 months? (disregard the family factor) ---------- "ROLLIN INTO 08"

Find the bottom of his roll first. If a bird gets deeper each day,it could be the ground. ---------- V99

i think if you breed him after you think he meets your standards in the air and if he is missing something you will find it in his kids that is the only way you to be sure is to try and learn it everyone has a different experience. lets say you fly it 3 seasons and then stock it breed it does that make your choice the right one you will still have to make some adjustments it takes time either way try what you think is best and you will be better next time you have to make that decision

Around six months old, but I’d still fly out the bird to see if it’s any good.
