At least she died spinning. I wormed them and forgot to mention it to my father. Well I come back home from work and he tells me that he flew the birds and they were acting all funny, and what do u know my favorite hen is dead. He said she was pulling a extremly fast 30' when she just went limp and .... :( ---------- N/A Loft

Sorry about your lost Norm.
Question: When worming, you aren't suppose to fly them? or was it the worm that killed her? Or was it over dosing? I am still learning the "do's and don't" of this hobby. shed me some light on the events that ended with your tragedy if you may.
thanks. ---------- FLO www.blacked-out-loft.webs.com SAKTOWN, KALI4NIA

Well what happend is, I had them on a strict diet where I biuld them up and than slowly brake them down (with diet), and it basicly back fired when I wormed them. Her heart gave out becouse of stress because she was an extremly fast bird. At least thats what I think ... ?????? ---------- N/A Loft

Norm, You could be right. Could also possibly be that she rolled down because with the diet and wormer she was too weak to pull out of the roll.

Kat ... she never rolled down or bumped. She was just perfect in every way (at least in my book). Its still a mistery to me as to why she died. But I think the wormer had someting to do with it, together with the diet.... ---------- N/A Loft

Norm Knox, First off sorry to hear you lost a good one. They are hard enough to get without any complications. On a different note let me ask you this. Why were you still flying her? I have always told myself that if I couldnt afford to loose it then it wasn't going back in the air. I know lots of guys that put stock birds back in the air after breeding from them and I have too but only if they didn't work out for me in the stock loft. Think of this in tha future and it may save you a good bird or two. Can I afford to loose it or will it move my stock loft in a forward direction. If the answer is no to first or yes to the second questions then pull it out of the air. Remember you cant build a good kit until you build a great stock loft.
