From my experience, i have purchased old birds (2-3 years) and are matured already from out of state. Of the 10 + pairs I have recieved and locked them down for some 6-9 months, all of the females has flown away. I guess it is just a girl thing. All the males tend to find there way back home tomorrow morning and that is when I can trust they are homed. maybe they have a sense of their turf or that they have babies and they will come searching for them. But the females, either the person who sold them to me never flew them or they were just plain stupid. Once they circle around the house and go up higher, they are gone no matter how many birds I let out to draw them back. They say you pick from the air for the best result but what if when you fly the adults and they just go "poof"? Then you ain't got nothing to pick from. If they are matured, you can just put them in a cage on the rof for a couple of weeks, then when you are ready jsut tape their wings and let them roam on the roof, once you feel it's safe, you can let them free and cross your fingers. If they are squekers, they will home in 2-3 days. I have flown squekers right after getting them and the next day they are already homing but the adults to breeders are a different story. good luck. ---------- FLO www.blacked-out-loft.webs.com SAKTOWN, KALI4NIA
