Travel to as many lofts as possible. If it takes you a year to pick the right family then so be it. It's hard to start over. Find a chair in every yard, pull yourself away from conversation, and watch the birds from when they take off, to when they land. Do it over, and over. At some point, it will "click" and you will know you have seen the best there is to offer. Then dig into your pocket and buy some. Hey, if a guy thinks you are serious about them, you'll get some dandy's for free. Don't rush into it.

chris

Right now there are many club fly's around and you need to go and see the most fly's you can to get an idea of what they have. Ones you have gone to around 20 or more you might have an idea and buy from the ones you like. I visit lofts for around 1-2 year to choose the ones I like. Also don't just go ones to the same place but more like 3-4. Some times they might have a good day and some times a bad day.

Don't buy birds with out seen them unless he is a guy you can trust. And don't buy birds every where you go. It's always better to have 1 line of birds or 2. Ones you see some birds that you like try to buy them or the parents.

Welcome, if I were you I would buy birds from someone who is willing to sell them to you outta the air. This way you and the breeder are coverd, you can't say he sold you junk as you selected them outta the air, then comes the hard part seeing if they produce the same, but I think if you do it this way it will save you alot of heartake. And rember you are looking to open a door, the door to the roller world as you see it, it is up to you to find the right key to open it,,if you have to many keys to start, it will take you longer to open the door or you might just open it here and there.. the less keys the better your chances.. hope this helps...
