Eight birds still not back today. 3 are banded nbrc 07 j (200) series and the other 5 are npa 08 rf (1100) series If you happen to stray one in and want to return it you can post here or call me at 951-545-5683 thanks for looking - ps. So what ends up happening to all these birds we lose? Some might end up under a bridge with the street birds but most proabably just die right??? Or what do you guys think????

No they don't die. Pigeons are hardy and social animals. They will join other flocks you see in the highways and hospitals roof. They learn how to get their water and feed. Belive me when they are lost and want to drink water, they drink it from swiming pools. They will pick for grups in the fields or around industrial areas.

I would agree with JStar, that most of the birds join up with the commies and do okay. I lost a bird several years ago and saw it living with the commies at the freeway overpass. I would often see it flying around and occasionally roll. The freeway was kind of far from the house so I didn't want to risk anymore birds trying to get it to follow them home. Watch the commies and you will often spot lost homers with them.
