----------Well never really considerd my self a quitter, but I do know my tolerance level and it just expired yesterday. I have always been a backyard flyer, and have been working on my family for some years now. I never had the oppurtunity to compete, however that changed when I became stable, I thought it was gonna be a good deal, with this hobbie/sport being so supportive, I have found myself wrong! In reality all I want to do is "FLY MY BIRD'S" and it's been like one of the toughest battles ever in my time with thease bird's. I thought comp was gonna be easy, prep the bird's and hope for the best, WRONG, didnt really relize all the underlined POLITICS.. it's really unreal I should have done my home work, that would have saved me alot of heartake and pain. I always thought you had to crawl before you walk, but compition in thease parts you better hit the ground running, or get wedged out,, point blank..I can say that the three flys I participated in W.C "2007" scored 7points, Fall"07" 14points, and my last ad final fly W.C "2008" 60 points, so I was pretti happy with my self as I was slowly getting better, and was looking foward to being part of a region that has some top flyer's. Not the case In addition I feel responsible for messing it up for the guy's in Bakersfield, the were the farthest south the border of that region, but they are S>O>L because that has suddenly changed, yea I live in Lake Isabella 45min east of my closest flyer, I can really understand the boneing im getting, guess it's just to far and i can understand that for me, but what about the other flyers in bakersfield??? why should they suffer??? is it because im the lone ranger??? Is it because we havent been flying as a club? is it gas prices? We have only been togeather less than a year, as a club we got some work to do and there are some real chalenges and we are working on that..It will be near impossible to form our own region in time for the fall fly this year, so im over it!!! Should have know the magnitude when I was told we would be "carried" this year for the W.C, that intailed flying on a friday! spert of the moment, I and most of my guy's work on friday and I definantly would have asked for time off, instead of calling in sick. One of my guy's is still waiting on his $50 entry fee, as he was caught off guard also.. I am not looking to piss anyone off but if you feel that way just put yourself in our situation. So thanx for showing me what I have to consider if I want to be sucessful in comp..And feel free to fix it with fact's.Im still the same guy and respect. But some things definantly changed..
Truly & Respectfuly

Hey Booker,
45 minutes away from the next guy is not too bad, as some are even farther than that. Like us we when to your house and is around 3 hours away. It's always fun visiting friends that have rollers just to kick back for some time learning new things.
Just have your birds ready and start to jump up those points and you will get calls just to see your birds.
You see when you get the offspring going again. ---------- SALAS LOFT

Booker, I don't have a dog in this fight, but it is up to the region on a whole to pull you in. I flew in that region for years, if they aren't taking you in it isn't due to politics or anything else, it is due to logistics, in other words you are just too hard to fly and it takes too much of the time. All you guys need is 6 flyers to form a new region for W/C to start out , but must pay for 15, you can do the 6 for three years I beleive it is, it is up to you guys to pick up the ball and do the work. Good luck Scott ---------- Just my Opinion Scott

Yea I get it and like I said I need to do more home work. Thats the fact, and we will figure it all out. From me it's the way it all happend.. and that's fact if you would have told me a year ago this was the case I would have done some "preventive mantinance". ya know stopping things before they happen. I really dont have a problem with the Logistics of the deal ,,but jessie you said stay to the facts and I have, "THIS IS MY WORD AS A MAN". we were never contacted after paying the W.C. entry fee.. however prior to the reciving the money Travis our club president was contacted weekly. the point is that there are some dedicated roller flyers here and we were all caught off guard!!!!on a friday, really dont need to say how it was for your folk's, And that is fact.. the money thing for my club member << That is fact!!!.. So chose your words wisely!! as I dont blow up for no reason..there was no other things going on. WE were "blind sided" point blank!!so yea like I said "COMP OVER IT!!".. you got us this time, and I will make this clear as it seems as if you speak for your whole club, I am talking to you directly.. as I know some other members of your club, and elder's. You know the facts and thanx to all for the advice my point was that I was "BIG BOY'ED OUTTA COMP".. and its because of logistics I truly understand that...Honestly.. so we will fourm or own region "SUPER" believe that Young Jessie... its the way we had to do it thats all..So like I said we/I am otta the Comp thing... for now,,,,,just now.. I come from a small town called "Never lay down" just east of "Never Bone a BRO".. no hard feelings just over it... I truly respect this site and I truly believe its a great deal.... It's amazing that you call me with great new's Jessie, but just standard information to a "Good Friend" as you have called me, would have prevented alot... I will make the clear.... Some people chase the dream.....I LIVE IT!!!! PAL....
See you sooner!
Truly, BOOKER

Booker, If you feel that you or the guys in Bakersfield were done wrong or it was "politically motivated" then you got our numbers. You will not get any sympathy this way. I think that you venting it out on here is not the proper way and we could've talked this over on the phone. Anywho, good luck to you and we are all still friends and are welcome to stop and visit us anytime.

You got it Dave,, However I tryed to take the proper channels to midigate this situation, Called time and time agian, maby I was wrong for not comming to you directly, however I am a ferm believer in the "chain of command", so I delt with your cordinaters for the W.C fly and the Fall Fly. I recieved a solid NO. and thats when I decided to vent, Like I said Im over it and, it's not all youguys I was talking to..And me venting kinda made a diffrence as the folks in Bakersfield may have a shot at flying this year, funny how things change when they are brought to the light. That's all it was Dave nothing personal, I know Im cut off I was just conserned about my Bro's, I just didnt want to be responsible for for them loosing out also... and If any one thinks Im being abrasive O WELL just Imagine someone trying to hinder your progress in this sport, probally kinda hard for some of you folks as you have the support I thought we were all intiteld to, I will still enjoy my bird's as I have prior to this Comp thing,,, in my back yard,,, and no one can take that, I look foward to supporting your shows and seeing your rollers, I just won't compete probally better that way... Thanx for your time and the best of luck to you guys in the future...

Square I would like to know how many fliers is there with you and Bakersfield? I am in the Antelope Valley area we cover San Fernando, Palmdale, Lancaster, Victorville, and Apple Valley areas. I can't make any promises but I will try to talk to the RD's to see if they would be willing to pick you and the Bakersfield guy's up.
The World Cup RD is Willie Wright of the High Desert Roller Club. The Fall Fly RD is Steve Smith of California Spinning Roller Association and both of these RD's are stand up guy's.

Thanx PR_ and Spinzone that sound's great,, We have a total of 4 flyers not counting me...and thease are actual Flyer's.. I have talked to Wille and he also gave me some good advice.. It would be great if we were able to fly with you folk's I know logistically we might have some hardship but if we work togeather and youguy's find the time we will fund the extra..I just really dont think we are ready to fourm our own region as we have just fourmed our club.. I am a ferm beliver in working your way up in this sport.. we have alot of folks that have been in rollers for a while,,, however most have just started comp... I would pefer to stand under some kit's and us become fimular with how this whole thing Comp thing work's, before taking another bite... YA KNO.. Last week a guy by the name of Tyrone came to my house, he is from the H.D.R.C and it was prettie cool having him up,, I flew two kit's for him and let him sqeeze some birds. Yea I really hope this works out,, and if it dosen't I look at the brite side, I will have 20 more hold overs for next year,, and be in better position to compete. And also another year of learning,, how it all works.. Step by step... really thanx for your time and feel free to come see me if you happen to be in "NO MAN'S LAND"..
