YES wear a mask!!A dust mask at least but those 3-M particulate respirators are the best.Tony sells 'em.I know alot of guys don't agree with this but I like to have what is called deep loft litter on the floor.Start out with some pellets they use in pellet stoves($4 a bag)then let the dropping build up and scrape when they are sort of dry and spread em around again to dry some more.Always leave enough of the dried droppings around the floor to soak up any moisture.Sawdust or shavings tend to fly around the air too much and get blown into the corners.Don't allow so much to build up that the door gets hard to open, but I find there is less dust flying around with this method. If you add apple cider vinegar to the water the loft won't smell bad.The deep loft litter method is used in the biggest squab farms and I've seen it in many breeders lofts.Kitboxes you just gotta keep clean as you can-wire floors with tray underneath.
