Yeah,it just takes some connecting the dots and having helpful people on the other side of the border close to where you can cross and pick them up.Also$$$. ---------- Kel. Rum-30 Lofts

Well,,,,you'll have to pay the vet in the US to inspect the loft and birds and vaccinate them.I'd say that will be around $100-$150,not sure yet. Then you'll have to have them shipped to where you can cross the line and pick them up.That should be around $100 give or take some depending on whether you use air freight /courier or USPS.Then you'll have to pay the Canadian vet to meet you at the border and inspect the birds.I'nm sure that would be around $100 also. These are all just guesses as I'm yet to do it myself, but I'll let you know what the cost is exactly when I import some Orientals later in the summer hopefully. ---------- Kel. Oh I just thought that they had to be checked by a U.S. vet down there and then they could be shipped.. I got the idea from this statement - "WE ARE FORTUNATE THAT THERE IS NO QUARANTINE REQUIRED FOR PIGEON TRAVELING BETWEEN CANADA AND THE U.S." ---------- Andrew

all and all its very expensive and the wait a pain too..When i had to get birds here 12 years ago i had to go through the same thing. but the bad part was when they made me wait and the birds would go without feed for 2 days or three..I'm glad now i can get them through regular mail..just ship and i pick them up at the post office.Thank God... ---------- Ralph

No,no quarantine required but the canuck vet definately will have to have a look and make sure ALL the papers are in order with correct band #s and Vaccination papers.I'd say by the time you pay for everything you're looking at $500 for 2 pairs, but if you're bringing in a rare breed you'll be able to sell some offspring in the future to help pay the importation costs. To tell you the truth Andrew, you really don't need to import Birmingham Rollers as there are a ton of good birds right here in Canada if you go about it the right way you shouldn't have a problem getting some good stockbirds or at least new flyers.Mine have started on their third round now and I don't want all of them if you catch my drift. ---------- Kel.
