This year I produced two so far. They are sibblings from the first round. Last year I produced one from different parents but lost him when flew the first day. I personaly don't care for odd side birds.

I get a lot of oddsides and whitesides from my pure Birminghams. Not out of my color birds which mostly come in badge and beard and grizzle.

When I had my Masons I got several odd sides and white sides. Never got any true saddles. I still get a few odd sides from my current birds. ---------- scrimpscrampi Tulsa, OK

Mark, In the early 80's I bred from some birds from Chan Grover that would throw alot of Baldheads, Saddles and oddsides but not sure were Chan got them. There were some good ones in there just had too breed a bunch of them to get one. Take care, Joe Urbon ---------- J.M.Urbon Lofts A Proven Family of Spinners http://www.freewebs.com/jmurbonlofts/

I produced a pair of nest mates of off a blu ck Monty Neible hen that really spun good and a blk ck wht flt. If you dont know the back ground on your birds any thing may pop out. Sometimes dormant genes hook up and you may see something that you have never seen before even when you do know your birds and their back ground. That may not be a bad thing, especially if the babies are good, that is what keeps it interesting. ---------- They gotta Spin to win.....Jay

Since I have closed the gap in the gene pool. I have been seeing more Odd Sides and Saddle markings. I think this has to do more with the effects of inbreeding more so then what the birds actually carry. My birds are grizzle and Badge based. So breeding full or half bro and sis would produce a whiter more washed out product.
Besides that, the only Saddles I have seen are from the Larry Hubbard family. I have one that is still flying that is just a dandy in the air at 4 years old.
Saddles and oddsides are fun to look at on the ground but means little in the air. What counts is what they can do!
Can you guys post some of your birds that can do it right in the air?
