Feed your birds fresh garlic in the water every couple weeks and you won't need the chemicals.

HOw do you use the garlic in the water anyways? I 've always wanted to put garlic in but my family cooks it so never tried it. what does do agian?

Crush 1 clove of garlic in a gallon of water.It makes the bird emit a smell which bugs don't like.Just like if we eat alot of garlic your BO will really stink!!

so garlic works good then..?? i purchased some of the Permectrin powder already so i will be prepared in the future.. it will probably get here by monday but anyways.. i will try the garlic thing when i get home after work.. and see how that works...i'm gald i dont have to work tommorrow.. cut back on fridays for my job so i got 3 days to build a new loft and get the roller back to normal by getting those lice off the ones that got them..
thanx all u guys for the help... got lots to do this weekend hopefully i can a chance to come on this website this weekend and read all the new post .. if not i got all day on monday at work to read...

The permectin will kill them almost immediately,I use it in the bath water once in a while. I put garlic cloves in my vinegar and use it occasionally in the water. It is pretty smelly so make sure the birds are thirsty when you put it in the water.
Permectin is the most effective of the two alternatives. However the garlic and vinegar is good for the immune system as well.

Yeah the permectin is excellent to get rid of the lice right away like,but the garlic is the way to maintain your birds parasite free.Don't forget to crush the clove sort of just with your hand hammer it on the cement or something.Every two weeks.

Ya know what else I've used before if they get an infestation is Garden Raid.It has pyrithrin(Spelling)which is made from flowers.A shot in each armpit worked for me,,,,my birds I mean.

this was an old post.. but my rollers don't have any more lice.. I did use the powder lice killer.. seem to work fine... no more probelm...
