Im using some pellet call layers pellet for my breeds and it tends to make their dropping really big. 25% of it doesn't even go through the 1" wire. I also have grit in there. Any ideas on how to make their dropping smaller?

Feed them smaller pellets.

Actually, your birds sounds like they are very healthy. Count yourself a good bird keeper. Try adding some grain to thier diet and see what happens.

That was toooo funny Tony. Actually you will find that pellets will always make their dropping larger and Most pellets dont reguire the need for grit. They already have all the supplements they need in them. If the droppings are solid consider yourself lucky, evrytime I tried to feed mine pellets I couldnt stand the runny crap. And lots of it. Joe

Well at the store theres only 2 size and the other size is crumbed baby chick size. The one im feeding seems to be good size not to big or to small. If i add grain they will just eat the grain and not pellets.
There dropping are solid but theres a pair that kinda having waterly dropping sometime and it smells.

He was just kidding about the size Im sure. I also tried mixing the grain with the same results. I really liked how healthy the young were but did not like the loose droppings. Joe
