do u guys really use bleach in ur bathing water to get the whites bright i mean like clorox bleach and if so how much jerry t

I don't use bleach in anything,because if i don't want them drinking it why would i bathe them with it,bleach ,clorox in bathing water is still dangerous because it goes through the skin of the bird..its the byproduct of clorox thats dangerous. ----------P.S. there is a topic on bleach in water on page two.check it out.. ---------- Ralph

Thats the only thing is good for disinfect.thats how i use it too.pour a little in the waterer bottle leave it for a day away from birds ....next day is clean....pour it out rinse it good then put plain clean water for the birds, ---------- Ralph

Bath water is a no-no with bleach. Bleach is a poison. I use it to clean my water fonts, but then I rinse it out. This will leave only a trace amount of bleach. That is all they need is a trace amount.
Too much bleach in thier system and it will kill the bad bacteria as well as the good backteria. This screws thier emune system and you will come up with some sick birds. If you overdose them too far you will come up with dead birds.
