Not the breed, I'm talking about the babies that fall behind and take way longer to develope! Does anyone have luck with them?
This last round, I have 24 that were all within 2 weeks or less apart! 21 are already are taking short flys from loft to kitbox and back, some taking short flys around the yard! 3 are still in the loft and probably another week from the training loft!
Waist of time?

Hey Val, Sometimes those small ones are caused by the hen starting to set right away and incubate the first egg before the second one is laid. The first egg will hatch first and the chick will get a head start on the second one to hatch and always get more food than the 2nd hatchling. If you take this smaller one as soon as you can safely hold it and twice a day stuff it full of peas and corn and safflower, and a little drink from a syringe of water, this will help it to catch up to it;s nestmate.---------- Kel. PS, Good job at getting so many born so close in age.

I raised 24 young at once during a busy work schedule! I didn't have time to baby a couple that were behind!
All that I was asking, is, has anyone had luck with slow developers! Guess I didn't word my question right!
Never mind, their not with us anymore!

Val next time if your busy. Switch squeaks around. put two small one's together and two of the bigger one's. clip a toe nail or mark somehow. So you can tell apart when banding. I know this isn't what ya asked. But might help next time. I never kept track of the small one's on how they did. Eventually they end up the same size. ---------- Tapp

I think it works the same as pro biotics! Yeast=bacteria. I'm thinkin I'm gonna try it! Maybe thats why they are stunted, not digesting their food right!
Don't usually have this problem. I've just been busy and there was a bunch of these buggers to keep an eye on! The gut-bacteria might be the problem! I'm out of pro biotics and this problem happened around the same time!
