I personally like 48x24x48 because is utilizes a sheet of plywood with a wire front. 32x32x48 does the same thing with a solid front. I dont like solid fronts. It is mostly about making best use of materials.

mine is 4 feet across and 36 inches deep and 45 inches high in front and 48 inches high in the rear. I have a double box so it is one sheet of plywood across the front and back. One sheet for the sides. It left me enough to left over to make some perches. I cut out a door and used 1x4 for a frame and used a 1/2 inch screen to cover it. I also used corrugated fiberglass roofing. It seems to work well. be careful how deep you make as you will have to crawl into get a bird. If it is to deep it will be a pain. basically 48hx48wx36d. ---------- RT Williams

In how deep you wanted just stick out your arm and that should be your measuring stick..You wanna reach out and grab a birds comfortably.and when you want to reach over to clean perches or what have you.. ---------- Ralph
