from time to time my kit will drift and fly in another area for a while(still in sight) then slide back over after a few minutes. is this do to wind, overfeeding or do they see another kit from a distance etc...?

Sometimes it is caused by underfeeding

what if they're fed up and do this? does everyone's kits have a tendency to do this, or am I doing somethin wrong?

You know what you might be right. I had the same problem with them flying into another area for a few mins and coming back. I have been kinda underfeeding my birds to trap them in right after landing. I just thought maybe it was just the birds. Thanks for the info.

Sal, I had the same issue until I started feeding up my birds. Never thought about under feeding being the problem. :)

You guys need to look at the age of the birds also. Young birds venture out as a means of learning their surroundings. Every young kit I have ever flown has done this and they all come back around. The only other reason your birds should do this is if the wind is driving them away. Your lack of feed has little to nothing to do with young birds venturing out. Joe

thanx..yes they sre all youngsters and they're startin to make less trips and spend less time doin this so I can see what u mean by the age factor.

I had this problem with a cock kit, i cut there feed and it stoped.

This happens to me when i over feed them and they fly for over an hour...

they haven't done this since the end of june. I believe they were just exploring their surroundings.
