That's alot to pay for 5 footers Raf.Most I paid was $180 plus shipping for a Donek cockbird.$80 each for 2 hens more and another cock.the 180$ cockbird is a black baldy and every offspring up till now dives a corkscrew and many other air antics.very freindly bird. ---------- Kel. Rum-30 Lofts

Like Hector I got my best birds free. The six foundation pairs for my family were $80.00 a pair, plus shipping and boxes. As a kid I can remember my Dad spending thousands on racing homers but he sold them for thousands also. I remember him importing four pair from Chas. Heitzman back in the early 70's. He had to pay for the birds, vet bills, airfare and I believe 60 days quarantine in Hawaii. I've asked but he won't tell me how much those four pair ended up costing him. :)

The best birds I have got have been for free or in trades. The most I have spend on a single bird is 100-150 and this were the most expensive foster.
I have trade many birds with many guys them giving some of there best and me giving some of my best. When I need one I can go back to them and if they need one they can just pick it up.

There is more to that story, over three years later they were used for fosters. I was told a long time ago that I would breed my best, I found that to hold true. ---------- Just my Opinion Scott

Paul,
You did not charge me anything. I insisted to pay for your troubles. The purchase was from Danny Horner when I first started with rollers and I was happy with what he sent me. As I was also happy of what you sent me even though you changed strains. However, the andalusian was excellent performer along with the red self and the blue bar self. They were stocked. I wish you've never got rid of the parents of the andalusions.

umm I would have to say $250 for a jacobin show bird and $300 for a racing homer the only reason I got the homer for that cheap was because I am one of few young people in pigeons still and my best rollers from kenny billings for my birth day I will allways rember that day like it was yesterday I have one baby from the cock bird he gave me from the daughter
