With the price of feed going up, what would you willing to pay for a bag of feed to stay in the hobby? 30.00, 50.00, 100.00, just something I was thinking about today.

It is hard to say.. I would definitely have to find some kind of substitute.. However, I will pay a lot of money to stay in the hobby and will never get out of it! :)

I have had to cut my herd in half already.LOL.But if worse comes to worse I will still stay in the hobby if I have to just keep a few breeders and only a couple kits to fly. David

SHHHH!!! or they'll hear you and jack up the price even more!!! I don't have a ton of birds so the price increase isn't hurting me yet,it sucks but I can still afford it.If I had alot of birds, i'd probably scale down a little if the price kept going up. Wait until diesel fuel goes higher, the truckers are feeling it already.I've already talked to guys and they said if they can't get a back haul they won't take the load because of the fuel price. If the fuel goes up a couple more bucks(which it will) never mind the birds,OUR food is going to cost a fortune! Safflower is already up around $45 a bag here.Over $22 for wheat.Gas is $1.44 per liter=$6.60 per imp. gal.I see they're producing electric pick-ups now so it's just a matter of time before I get one of those. They even have dumps on them,so I'm saving up my nickels.

I have over 400 pigeons and they go through about 150 pounds a week. That's roughly $60 a week I'm spending on feed. That doesn't count the grit and other items. That is just feed alone. So 240x12=2,880 in feed costs for the year. That is if prices don't continue to go up which I am sure they will.
A friend of mine has a lot of different breeds and lots of them. His feed bill is around $1200 a month right now.

I was watching CNN yesterday and a guy from GM said that most of the major companies including GM will fold if the price of gas reaches 6 bucks. It’s starting to look like we might have to start feeding bread crumbs to our birds like Pensom did during WW2; if worst comes to worst we might have to start eating them just to survive are self’s LOL.
