Let's see, I have over 200 birds, and say I take each one to the vet 1 time a year at say $10 per bird, that would be over 2 THOUSAND dollars a year, to do what? Tell me my birds are healthy? Have worms? Undernourished or whatever?
Do yourself a favor, invest in some avian medical books and educate yourself. Not too much that you cannot diagnose yourself with enough experience and willingness to do so.
But they are your birds and your responsibility. You do what you think is best for your situation and birds.
But the next time one of your pigeons sneezes, take it to the vet and let me know how much you pay for the visit and medications.
I know exactly what I would give my bird and it will cost me a few pennies a day for 5 to 7 days. Good question, good luck! ---------- FLY ON! Tony Chavarria
