Hello to All,
Need to know,I live in Whittier CA and I pair up
my breeders in late Jan and dont know when to sepperate them.
Can anyone help?

When you are finished breeding.LOL
In all seriousness that is entirely up to you. I try to break mine up before it gets too hot out as the heat just adds unnecessary stress on the birds old and young. Joe

I normally stop in mid early july, I also live in Whittier. Its hard to train birds after that in the next following months!!!

i sometime break up the pair if they are not producing what i want from them. i have to admit, i lost a view birds this week. i think the hawk season is up again. I have one pair of cooper out smarted me.

I break up the pairs in august when they start to moult.They recover from the moult better if not having to feed youngsters.Put 'em together again jan,feb.----------

Never lost one due to the cold.Of course I live on the westcoast of BC where the cold is not severe like the interior.Guys in the interior of the province start breeding around march.My Doneks and Racers I've bred all through the winter.

Thats good to know . I'm a little over 7000ft elevation and get snow till around the 1st of May . I've been a little hesitant about breeding them before May for fear I might loose a bunch to the cold.

You're high up alright and yeah,,too cold for you to breed till spring for sure.
