No they are not Rollers but some breeders will cross stuff like this into the birmingham Roller and sell them as Birmingham rollers .
So be careful where you get your Birds from.....

I have a few groused and short muffs. I dont breed for them or away from them. The gene is in the family line. They don't pop out all the time, they just show up sometime. If a bird has all the goods It's not going to stop me from using it in the breeder pen. ---------- They gotta Spin to win.....Jay

Boots and muffs came in from the dutch tumbler. The birds with muffs were cultivated as Wests and the other became Birmingham rollers.
A lot of J Leroy Smith birds have boots as do some Jacs. They are recessive in most pure lines of BR's.

This is one of my muffed squeaks. I get a few off the Bradleys too. Most of the ones I got this year had one line of feathers down the center toe.

Kenny,
The muffs on that squeek fit the definition of a Birmingham Roller; "lightly feathered......". Some of these birds are displaying something other than "lightly feathered". I think you spell it, C R O S S E D. But, hey who knows....only the hair dresser knows. ---------- Just My Take On Things
