My freind Larry Varela (SGVS) of Monrovia Calif. has sent me a kit of 20 birds to fly out as he is getting pounded by the BOP.

Larry once worked with Bob Scott plastering swimming pools and got his first Birds from Bob Scott.

I will be flying out the kit and reporting back to him the devolpment of the Birds.

I hope I can do a good job of training the Birds he bred
and when the kit is Smoking Larry can visit me and watch the kit fly and perform.

I wonder if I can enter the kit in the 2009 World Cup or Fall Fly under his name.

UPDATE !!!!

Larrys kit is down to 8 birds ,, sorry to say that after the Moult they went stiff...

the birds are strong flyers and I have cut the feed to try to get some roll... no luck yet ..

They are on Borrowed time .. now I remember why I dumped the that old line of Birds.

Don't mean to laugh but that is funny. Hey, some birds have it... some birds don't.

George, do you think that it could be some thing that you are doing to cause them to go stiff? I know my young birds will turn it on for the better half of their young career and then turn it off. Come back alive after 9 months or older. My young birds usually shut down during the moult big time.

Good luck with what you have left. I too have a strong flying family of birds and I know the feeling.

Sheeze George, they are how old ? by that criteria you would have to fly a bunch of over cooked youngsters to be satisfied , and then start over every breeding season.
There are some fine looking birds in that bunch, Thor I see the same here, the molt shuts them down, then they come back.

Hector several were culled due to roll down non kitters BOP also culled a few for me .

Scott I never claimed to be a good trainer of pigeons all I do is Fly, feed and water the Birds, nothing more and nothing less, these Birds could be Champions in someone elses hands BUT I dont want another job( especially one that dont pay )trying to find out how to make the Birds Roll.

Also I dont want to spend two years waiting for some birds to roll when the strain of Birds that I have start to spin a lot sooner then that, and as far as them being over cooked and not lasting I have some in my kit that are going into there 4th season of flying .

George,we aren't talking about birds that you to make roll or waiting two years, we are talking about birds that you got in July , then flown threw the Vegas heat of Summer and then thru the molt.
As for your current birds, where are they putting you in the finals of the major flys ? just something to ponder

Efren

Reed and Higgins Birds Probably the most winningest family of pigeon .

Scott the birds were already 3 to 4 months old in july, they were no spring chickens (LOL) maybe thou.

George,

Pretty much the same, I just have some Keith London in mine. Hopefully the hawks will let me keep a team together for a big fly next year.

(Efren
Reed and Higgins Birds Probably the most winningest family of pigeon .)

How did you determine that ? for the sheer numbers flying them I don't see them dominating anything,in fact I can't see any family that can make that claim because it just doesn't work that way, there just simply is no "magic" family out there.
