Hey Jay, 10-4.
Because I have had the dubious distinction of being quoted in Audubon Magazine and because I DO want to see our best foot put forward, I am accepting the fact that being the public forum that we are, we will attract the attention of persons wanting to make news.
Therefore, certain topics or the way some things are said need to be measured against the knowledge that some do-gooder groups, borderline so-called animal rights terrorist groups and "evil" individuals are looking for things to make hay over.
Rather than say "cull", simply say "remove from stock" as this can mean several things from giving the bird away, selling it, removing it from the breeder pen or taking it out of the kit and used as a foster...
Rather than say "roll-down", simply say, "the bird lacks control" and needs to be "removed from stock"...
Roller fanciers are going to have to educate one another on better ways to refer to removing birds from stock. ---------- FLY ON! Tony Chavarria

Well said Tony. However, after awhile remove this thread so that we won't give away the watchfull eyes the meanings of the things we are saying.
