They should want to go in in the morn. I dont think that the owl will be a problem. just leave ur cage open for them to go in. ---------- Cristian Castro

Yep! When I was training my first young kit! Made a few mistakes and had to set up some quartz lights a few times and got most of them in! The rest, I would be out just after day break and rattle the feed can and call them in!
Work on your feed amounts the day before! I asume they were young birds. Its all about managing the feed! ---------- Val

I had the same problem so I went out at 10:30 and open the kit door and (locked up the birds that had returned earlier of course) turned a light on in their. And all of my birds returned within 10 minutes.. ---------- Andrew

CVRC you said you don't think the owls with bother pigeons? Pigeon is a Great Horned Owls favorite meal! I don't know what kind of owls you have but I see them eating pigeon all the time here in Idaho!

Sounds to me like they weren"t HUNGRY enough. A sign of overfeeding. And as far as wire sitting you should have flagged them off. Don't let them land on anything but the roof of the kitbox. ---------- Fly High and Roll On Paul
