I'll tell you what, I'd be careful flying that bird. I've had some rolling like that and it will get deeper and deeper until they run out of air!

Great depth thats a roller a bit loose and slow but it may just be the picture good 40 ft close to 50
a bit slow or not I will buy 20 of them Paco Bill

Andrew,I truthfully haven't seen a video represent a good roller roll.I see were the bird balled up a little,but there was nothing smooth about it.If that was a 30 or 40 ft roll,it was an ugly one,definetly no WOW factor.You know it when you see it,and definetly not in that video.Aloha,Todd

My money says that bird looks much better in real life, something about video that makes them look like dog doo,the timing,something,quality roll is as much of an illusion as anything.

I also have to agree that videos don't due justice to rollers Todd. I looked at many on U tube and they all look like dish rags. THis one was probably the fastest one of all the birds on U tube. I think you would have to have a high speed video camera to really tell the velocity on a roller. Some thing else you don't see much of is a bird rolling with its wings straight up or H or A style. Dave Henderson has a picture of a few birds on his web site if he still has it up where you can clearly see the birds wings are almost touching on top. Most birds are X and a bit better but their wings touch only when flying with their wings down in position.
It would be a nice post for all of us to post the fastest roller on video can compare them all on one post. I don't know how to post picture plus I will have to get a video camera. But what a neet idea. You go first Todd and them I will get mine on here. Good luck Bill

Here is the best example, look at the video again and you will see the roller jumping around when straight flying so no wonder it is jumping around when rolling. It is definately the videos that do not clearly show a clean roll. Something to work on.... good video equip. problably in the thousands? HUH! Bill C

Bill I think someone told me it takes a 10k camera to capture the roll as it truly is. I cant swing that just so someone can look at my bird. It would be cheaper to just by them an airline ticket. LOL
