lol nice title haha.. not really but I shove it in my mom's garden.. lol and I will see how it works, this year being the first. I was at another bird guy's house and he put pigeon crap under the dirt and buried it couple inches below the dirt right before the previous winter. He said he had a 2 1/2 pound tomato once.. I am for sure not joking! His tomato plants are taller than his garage..

Seems like it would have lots of seed in it too unless you pick it all out first.

Compost it first and the heat kills any seeds viability.Pigeon manure is one of the best for fertilizer, second to pig droppings.

Oh yeah, they used to post armed guards on the dovecotes in England to protect the squab and the manure from theives.Only for the rich folk that pigeon poop. The thing is to compost it as it is too hot to put directly on plants.I use those black round plastic composters and mix it with kitchen and garden waste, leaves, lawn clippings or even peat moss, sawdust, soil. It needs to be somewhat moist to be able to work/compost.Poke holes into it to let the air in.

Please make sure it is well composted. I had a friend use it with out composting it and it is to hot. ( High in nitrogen } it burned his plants. Also if it is composted no health concerns.

Considering the price for fertilizer everyone should be using it. It used to be that you could get free chicken manure from the large-scale chicken farmers. Now they have found out they can sell the manureit, because it's cheaper than ammonia nitrate. Ammonia nitrate got up to about $600 a ton last year. I do organic farm inspections in Kentucky and since organic farmers are not permitted to use synthetic fertilizer most of them use chicken or other animal manure for fertilizer. To be organic it must be composted to specs and applied 90-120 prior to the harvest of the crop depending on whether the edible portion of the crop touches the soil. Alot of people I know say it really helps the tilth of the soil.

Oh yeah, and don't go too heavy with it either. In one area of my garden last winter I had a pile of stalks and leaves and stuff composting along with the manure and then spread it out in that area in the spring and rototilled it in.I planted about 30 broccoli plants there and they grew huge but not one of 'em broccoled. Not one flower just these huge leafy plants.Too much nitrogen in the ground.
