What kind of Tumblers? Most just do single, double and triple flips. That is if they roll at all. Most breeds the say "tumbler" or even roller dont do either anymore due to the show pen.
Good Oriental rollers will kit as well as Birminghams but not always as tight. Anyone that has seen mine say they kit tight. They return to the kit just as Birms do. As to rolling some can roll as tight as Birms but not many. Thier abilities go from tumbles to one hundred foot rolls. Rarely to they roll with the quality of Birms. I have some that can spin so fast that you will miss it or know it did something just so fast you didnt know what. All this type are short spinners. Maybe five feet at most. The deep ones tend to be loose and most roll in axle or x-wing. I breed for linked up rolls. I like a bird to spin then spiral and plate roll, or something like that. They rarely do the same thing repeatedly. I had a bird recently that rolled from six hundred feet down to one hundred feet in three seperate rolls. He has never done it again.
Good Birminghams roll from ten to thirty feet and occasionally deeper and return straight back to the kit. They roll in unison breaks preferably once a minute for twenty minutes. That said there are those that are shallower and deeper. Shallower will not give good kit seperation and much deeper can rarely hold it together cleanly.
