Hey jynce, sounds to me like you are going through basic training here with the pigeons. I strongly suggest you invest in a library of pigeon care books.
The one you need right now and is VERY informative and worth every penny is a book titled "Pigeons" published by Barrons. It is a COMPLETE owners manual.
