Nick - Homer is doing well the last time I spoke with him a few months ago. Sam Guitterez and I met Homer at the LAPC meeting in 1972 or 73 (I have to ask Sam as my memory is slow until I have my coffee). When Homer told me his name I ask him if he could speak French as it is a French name. Homer's parents were French Canadians. Many people are only friends because of the birds but Homer Coderre is a real friend and wonderful person pigeons or not. He is a great man period! Also, the same goes for my lifelong friend Sam Guitterez!

Doc,
You know how to pick great friends. Have you ever noticed that Sam never has anything out of place; he is always "dress right and cover down". I have another friend the same way; nothing is out of place and clean (Darrell King). Same quiet; calm; and confident demeaner.
Homer fits that same mold as does Aubrey Thibodeaux(two French Canadians).

Doc,
You are close. The shorter man is Paul Vaughn and the other is George Reeves. They were each others best friend and I use to see them when I did my annual pilgramage to Paul's lofts when I was just a boy. Both men are now deceased, but this about how they looked when I was a teenager; say up to my age of 20. Those where good years; good simple times. ---------- Just My Take On Things

Nick - I have spoken with Paul Vaughn quite a number of times. He was an awesome man also. Paul, I believe, passed away last year. Did you keep any of Pauls birds?

I did not keep any of them. I gave them to Bob Hord who still flies Paul Vaughn birds and does pretty good with them. In Illinois he is one of the guys to beat. I gave them up when I left Illinois for California. Just didn't have the room and he talked them out of me.
Bob has never crossed them, but he also flies other families. He has some really small English birds (don't know where he got them) and another family. Not too many; he doesn't keep a large group of birds. Paul's birds were basically Pensoms, but I think you knew that(LOL). ---------- Just My Take On Things
