I just realized that this year is the 50 year anniversary of the release of William H. Pensom's book, THE BIRMINGHAM ROLLER PIGEON. This book has been a monumental part of Pensom's legacy. If it is read carefiully, there will always be something to learn, regardless of what stage, in rollers, the reader happens to be. The reasons for him writing this book are as real today as when he wrote it... probably more so.... Paul Gomez

Reading his book way back has taught me how to train them ,taken away when they 18 days old to the 4 weeks of training to fly .I still use that form of training to this day. ---------- Ralph

No Ralph he wasn't, although he enjoyed chickens, ducks and gueese. My first loft was a fort the me and my brother built at the base of an old Cotton Wood tree, you had to bend over to get in it, I would sit on that straw floored loft for hrs watching my birds. I had Trumpeters, Rollers,Homers and Helmets , no telling what mutated out of that loft LOL. I remember to this day coming home one day and having a real loft standing, my dad had a couple of his Carpenters build while I was at school,it was a total surprise, on the back they used one of my dads large signs that read (Roy E Campell Comst. Build To Suit) if it had backed up to a road I might have questioned his motive LOL, that was a memoriable day for me for sure. ---------- Just my Opinion Scott
