Rolling line33 you just answered your oen question. Normally bull eyed birds have white on there heads so if you breed them to birds that do not have any white on them you will be well on your way.

I know many fanciers do not like the Bull eyes popping up in there family of birds. Well to each is own I guess.

I have never seen a black self with bull eyes.

If the head of the bird is white or mostly white you stand a chance of having bulleyes. It is that pied gene.

I don't like bulleyes because I use the the eyes for health signs and signs of intellegent expression and it is hard to look through that bulled eye. Because of that I rarely stock a bulleyed bird. I have probably missed some good stock possibilities, but hey I probably have missed many possibilties for more reason than this one.

I am not the sharpest marble in the bag.

It depends on how much you consider eye signs and colour to be a factor in your birds performance I guess. For me it is more of an esthetic thing and pearl eyed birds are my favourite.I have a blue barred pearly eyed BR going into the stock loft shortly but he aint going in there just because of his eyes that is for sure.He is one of my most consistent rollers and has avoided the henery for 2 seasons.
