Gabe, this is probably the other bird that was doing real good when I was watching your kit. I noticed a blue checker and the recessive red when I was there. You got some good birds buddy.

The bird looks like that because it has been spinning in the air.

i dont want to sound rediculouse but i put tape on it, it helped a little but not all the seeds would digest so some were in its crop with water so the weirdest thing happend. the seeds sprouted in its crop believe me or not i learnd a lesson though -tape is not always the answer-lol

Hey Gabe, I see that alot on some of my soft feathered birds. When they roll like that those feathers part like the red sea...lol
I also get the occasional harder feathered speed birds that shred their secondaries to pieces.

Nice pics.

I put my arm thru a plate glass window once. The doctor stitched all the bad stuff then he super glued the smaller cuts. It worked great!

That was 15 yrs ago, been using it every since! It was even doctor aproved! LOL

Nice looking Spinner Gabe. She looks like a Fast Spinner. Good luck with her.

A few of mine will get like that as well. Not sure if it's from them spinning hard though? I have had one that was a real fast spinner and was much faster than the others, but yet a few of the others had their feathers parted like your hen and the faster one didn't have it as much to almost nothing? Not sure if it's the style of the bird or balance? Or it could be that the feathers are a bit stronger on some birds?

Is there another one as fast or close to this one in your kit? Does that one have the feathers parted as well? Just trying to see if you are getting the same thing as me.

I'm sure you have some good ones over there. I heard how LPRC does it...lol

There are allot of good spinners out there that their feathers don't look like that when they come down. I notice this ruffled chest feather on the birds around the molt time. It must be that their feather is thinning out or loosing out to be replaced which causes the feathers to be wacked and out of shape when landing.
