Didn't just took her out from being a breeder, she had to have plenty of food there right?

Couldn't a hen being low on calcium cause her to be week? Did she lay alot of eggs this season? Was there plenty of calcium (oyster shells) available to her when she was laying?

Tou, From my experience she is just out of shape. It also happens in some young birds on their initial flights, especially if it's hot. Add some electrolytes to the water and fly her with other old birds that have similar conditioning. The chances she'll have a repeat is small, once the weather starts to cool. Don't fly her every day! Otis

Grit and oyster shell are completely two different things! Grit does not replace the calcium they loose from laying eggs!

Breeders need both!

She is probably just out of shape! When I started back running in June, I had taken off for a year. I would get a little lite headed the first couple of weeks! LOL

Ive had A bird do this after another bird was snached by a B.O.P. in front of it. I got the remainding birds into the kit box and then it just started turning into a parlor... it was crazy then it just stopped and was painting heavely...
