mostly cock birds here. hmmm... wierd huh . LOL especially cause i get more stockable quality hens. the cocks dont hold up as long as a good hen in the air. the cocks are standouts the first year, then the second year they start getting stupid, lazy, cocky, or they just p1$$ me off too many times. But a good hen is constant in performance. dependable... ---------- Butch @ Sundance Roller Lofts

My hens are the better performers. They keep thier heads in the game. The cock birds seem to have other things going on.....like sex(LOL) ---------- Just My Take On Things

I have not got a good stock cock this year, but I have got a couple of good hens but stock only 1. I'm looking for a good cock out of my birds that has the quality I like.
Keep your standar high.

I think over all the hen is a better performer cause their smaller and makes the spin look tighter. ---------- Roll it

I also have had better luck with my hens. I have had good quality hens and cocks but I tend to get more good quality hens than cocks. Art Gaona

Good topic Alton.
Hmm... let's see here.
My hens are generally faster and tighter on the spin with moderate stability.
....however
I have noticed my deeper birds (40ft-60ft range) are just about always cocks.
The ruling would have to be that hens are better in my family of Birmingham Rolling Pigeons. There were lot of high velocity hens I recall back while flying my 2006 kit... which consisted of 19 birds (16 hens and the rest being cocks).

I am in the same boat as a lot of you. I have(had) more cockbirds then hens. I thinned the cockbirds down a few weeks ago to an approximate even number. I have three or four hens that are pretty good. Probably twice that number of cockbirds. Most of my good hens are in the breeder pen.Seems more good cockbirds come along than hens in my loft.
